Action Tours has an excellent ATV Tour in Tamarindo, It starts right in Tamarindo and travels north to different beach towns like Puerto Viejo and Conchal, you get to really do a lot of driving and getting dirty on this tour with couple stops, the guides are very fun and make the tour even better ask for Gabby she takes a lot of pictures and they post them on Facebook for you, they also give you a discount when you book online, so check them out. We will definitely be back!read more

A lot of fun and actually not as expensive as other activities in the area. Visited some great beaches. This is a perfect activity to do early in your visit to Tamarindo as there were many secluded beaches that we returned to once we had completed our tour. And Gabby was a great guide!read more

Ronnie led us on a nice tour of the back roads and remote beaches around Tamarindo. I felt safe operating the ATV with little experience as our guide showed us how to use the machine and gave lots of hand signals and instruction. The staff back at the base were very friendly. Gabby got us all set up with the gear and Casey was happy to answer my weird questions.read more

Gabby was an exceptional guide for a 4-hour UTV tour! She made the tour for us/ The UTV tour was different than we expected, but we had a wonderful time nonetheless. Frankly, we thought we’d be going on more rougher terrain than our charted path, but it was still interesting and 4 hours was a good amount of time - not too much, and enough to take things in. We explored some back roads and visited 3 beautiful beaches, with time to stop at each one. Beaches were the scenic highlights. Being dry season - it was very dusty, but Action Tours equipped us well with bandanas and goggles. I know this tour would be very different when the surroundings are more green and lush. Gabby was beyond wonderful with our group and super considerate of my older parents who came along, making sure this was a fantastic time for them all while indulging their yearning for adventure (they are faint of heart). Plus, she speaks Italian, which was a gift to one member of our group.Gabby got to know us and learned that we wanted to get Costa Rican coffee as a souvenir from our travels. She adjusted our route so we could stop and pick some up - making a great recommendation.Gracias Gabby y Action Tours. Hope to return in the greener season for what I’m sure would be a completely different adventure with your first-rate and professional guides. Our tour guide was exceptional with atv tamarindo. We had so much fun. Only thing we missed was riding on the beach. Otherwise, our driver took us out on dirt paths and roads to see all parts of Costa Rica. Our guide did take us to a nice spot to grab a pina colada and walk down to a private secluded beach that was breathtaking. All people at this location spoke English and were very king. We enjoyed this location and getting to see added parts of tamarindo.read more

Had a private tour with an incredible guide. I'm horrible with names but I believe he was named BJ. He's the one who works on heavy machinery in San Jose part of the year. Absolutely unforgettable tour in the UTV. Went to the beach that I specifically asked to see, as well as the Pirate beach which was an amazing surprise. All the staff was knowledgeable and friendly, and since we wanted to spend more time driving than sightseeing, he made sure we went down scenic routes and took our time exploring back roads. He made sure we were safe above all else, but we also got to really enjoy the speed of the vehicle at other times (Safely of course). I would recommend this to anyone who doesn't get motion sick, this was so much fun.read more

They took us along the coast in the catamaran, anchored on a secluded beach where we could jump in and paddle board, snorkel , or swim to shore. He was a great source for information about everything from the wildlife and local history to vegetation and their benefits. Great guide and great ride. Well worth the money. Gabby was a great, fun tour guide for our afternoon ATV ride from Tamarindo to the beaches. She helped find safe paths to get to the beaches, but still made it fun. We enjoyed a tropical drink at a local beach bar and had lots of time to enjoy the beach views during our tour. Wished we had a waterproof container to store our bags since it poured on our way home. Will definitely plan better next time to bring a rain jacket and waterproof bag during a rainy season tour.read more

Gabby and our guide were fantastic! Safety is their 1st priority. A clear training with a quick test drive to ensure you understand how to operate the ATV vehicle safely . I just finished a 2 hour ATV tour. It was beautiful to see tamarindo and other parts of the city. The scenery was so beautiful, currently it’s try season so some areas aren’t as lush. Yet the experience was so fun and interesting to drive through. We stopped by a beach which was gorgeous. ATV is easy to learn and you do get a quick practice lesson and after 10 min it does get easier and easier. The instructor was so nice and very helpful throughout the entire trip. Signalling us when change gears, move left or right. I also met Owner he was also super nice. I was told to wear black because the terrain is very dusty. Overall I had an excellent experience will do it again on my next trip to Costa Rica.read more

The 2 hour ATV tour was so much fun! You wear a helmet and a reflector sash. There's a practice ride before you start. You follow the guide and get really dusty from the dirt roads. Since you're on the main road at times you get up to speeds of 50 km/hr. He made a couple of stops to point out a family of spider monkeys and also at a local beach (with a bar!). We really enjoyed seeing Costa Rica via ATV!read more

Went on an amazing 2 (2 1/2) hour ATV ride around dirt/asphalt roads. There was a heavy downpour that was so fun to experience and halfway through we stopped at the beach and got drinks. Overall, it was extremely fun, we even drove through 2 rivers which was a personal bucket list. Great tour guide and worth it!read more

My tour experience was definitely worth the money.. I purchased a full day tour and it was exactly that! The food at the buffet is really good as well, very traditional Costa Rican food.. Jose guided us he was really nice and capture a lot of photo and videos. Highly recommend especially if you want a good tour!read more

We did a tour Jan 2019 & it was a highlight of our trip! Ronnie our tour guide taught us how to ride the ATV’s made sure everyone was come for table before taking us in an Adventure. We went through local neighbourhoods, across water streams, ended up at a local hidden beach where we had a beer before driving to the top of a hill to watch the sunset. Did a spur of the moment ATV trip today. We had Ganby as our tour guide and wow did we have a great time. Even better than we expected. We had a group of 4- one double rider which then rode with gabby and was able to chat and get some history fun facts about the area. We did the 3 hour tour and our guide was great! He took the time to take pictures and point out wildlife along the way as well. It was really fun and he showed us some really cool places we never would have known about otherwise!read more

I had never been to Costa Rica before our trip in April. It started out like any other trip - rent a house with a pool and lounge. But then the activities heated up and the last one we did was a 3 hour tour through Active Tours with Gabby (YOU MUST have Gabby as your lead) through the mountains, land, and beaches surrounding Tamarindo. I had never ridden on an ATV, let alone drive on that is manual shifting. Don't you worry - they teach you, and you become comfortable very quickly. These are easy to drive, and allow you to see the country side and even experience the local animals (monkeys and more). After about 20-30 minutes we came across some INCREDIBLE views and beaches that I am confident I would never have experienced without this tour including a stop for a beer at a very local bar, visit to pirate beach and shell beach, and views of flamingo beach. Gabby is local, but speaks excellent English (and tries to teach you Spanish along the way - thanks Gabby) and very knowledgeable pointing out animals, beaches, and other important scenes. We even had a break to jump in the calm waters along the way. So wear your suit!Action tour provides a bandanna (you WANT THIS) to cover your nose and mouth to protect from the dust as well as a helmet with a face guard. You can of course bring your own bandanna, but I felt they were very clean. I would suggest no flip flops (definitely tennis shoes) and clothes you will expect to get dirty/dusty. Take your phone/camera for some BEAUTIFUL picture opportunities.I will be back and kuddos to Go Adventures for setting this reasonably priced tour up for us! Will definitely be back and checking out our other options.read more

My cousin and I did the full combo tour Friday March 2. It included horse back riding, white water tubing (our favorite part, not for the scaredy cats!!)8 zip lines, and hot springs.The property is huge. The zip lines are expansive. Get ready to be active and walk! Would definitely do again. Our favorite day of the whole trip. We did not ATV due to it being so dry and we wanted muddy puddles! You get tons for your money. Recommend the full day combo tours! We are still waiting for our photos to be uploaded onto the FB page (hence why no 5 stars).read more

The ATV and surfing lessons from these guys were great! The owner and staff went above and beyond to make sure we had a great time and got up on the board. The ATVs were a blast, especially getting to ride on the beach and the surf lessons were by far the best we had (we took a lot of lessons over our week stay :) ).
